Simple Choices, Big Impact

Helen Emanuel ’03

Helen Emanuel ’03 graduated Pace with a Hospitality Management degree. Her successful hospitality career quickly led to event planning, event décor, and to Helen’s passion in children’s events and décor, starting her company, Favor Your Day!

Helen’s unique approach to children’s decorating visualizes rooms as an experience, incorporating “wellness décor” with safe spaces for body and mind: health-conscious materials, like zero VOC paint, natural fiber rugs, and low emission furniture, personally curated for the occupant, providing a relaxing haven. Such forward thinking has propelled Favor Your Day to become a thriving interior design and wellness brand.

Helen prioritizes giving back, often using wallpaper brands that provide gorgeous patterns and collaborate with the Arbor Day Foundation, planting a tree with every order. She is a member of the Sustainable Furnishings Council, which promotes environmentally sustainable design practices. For Helen, simple choices make big impacts.

Helen EmanuelHelen has never forgotten Pace’s impact on her success. She’s employed several alumni, including two recent graduates. Sydney Matone ’19 freelances as a Collaboration Consultant and in-house marketer. Madison Madison Terry ’19 began working while a student, designing the Favor Your Day logo, and has her own web/brand design company, Design by Madison.

In 2017, Helen made her most generous gift. In the spirit of a designer, she donated two oil paintings on canvas by Alexandra Pacula depicting “City Scenes.” The paintings, valued at $24,000, beautifully match the bustling feeling of the downtown city campus and have been inspiring viewers on campus for the past two years!

Helen’s experience at Pace helped launch her successful career, and she is glad to continue to support her alma mater in many ways!
